Tour the Mill at Shady Lea & learn about its history as a mill in the 1800s & it's current life as an artists gallery. There are many different artists with studios at Shady Lea. Those who are able to will open their doors to us.
We'll also tour Anchor Bend Glassworks studio & watch a demonstration on how they create their hand blown glassworks. Michael of Anchor Bend Glassworks has very generously agreed to allow us to try our hand at making our own glass work.
Details:
9:15am - Meet at the O Club parking lot to carpool to the Mill.
9:30am SHARP - Depart O Club for the Mill at Shady Lea
10am - Tour of the Mill & Anchor Bend Glassworks. Blow your own glasswork.
12:45pm - End tour.
1pm - Lunch at Tavern by the Sea in Wickford.
2:30pm - Arrive back at base.
Last date for registration is Oct 23rd (Sat) at 5pm.
Cost: $25 to blow your own ornament or paperweight. Please bring cash to pay Anchor Bend Glassworks. You will pick up your item at their Newport Gallery later that week.
Please note in your registration if you're willing to drive, how many people your vehicle can seat & if you are going for lunch.
